Men's Ministry Coffee & Fellowship Fridays in the Fuel Room-Street 6:30am - 7:30am

The Men's Coffee and Fellowship Friday's kicked off at the Advanced Prophetic Conference and it was a full house! Men from ten different churches arcross the US and Bermuda came out to share in some great fellowship and hot coffee in the Fuel Room on Main Street! A huge "Thank You"  to Elizabeth Braswell for sharing her Fuel Room space with the Men's Ministry for this opportunity!

We have continued the past 2 weeks meeting on Friday mornings and we are already getting great praise reports from our time together and our prayers for one another. We hope that those who work will be able to stop by on days they feel led to join in and others who can will become regulars in attendance so that we will have a continual place to connect outside of our monthly meetings. What ever your need may be, this is a place we now have to come and fellowship with other brothers in our "family." So mark your calendars and plan to stop in and join us this week if you can!

Men's Ministry Kickoff, Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 - Important UPDATES

Greetings MorningStar Men,

Thanks to all the men who came out for our "New Season" kickoff September 10th at CSCL! We had a great group with twelve new men who joined us for the meeting!

A special thank you to Doug Lee for making an awesome presentation on some great activities we can explore doing as a group.

A warm welcome to Bart Peacher, who is joining the men's leadership team. Bart has a father's heart and we are blessed to have him join the team.

We have also planned to also kick-off a weekly Men's coffee and fellowship meeting this month! We are looking at meeting on Friday mornings from 6:30 - 7:30am in the FUEL ROOM on Main Street in MorningStar. Men can drop in before work or just some by to have coffee, fellowship, pray and just be led by the Spirit during that time. More news to come on that! Stay tuned!

We will be meeting the third Saturday of each month through December, 2011 from 8:30am -10:00am in the Grand Cafe (unless otherwise notified). Our next meetings will be:

Saturday, October 15, 2011 - 8:30am - 10:00 am in the Grand Cafe

Saturday, November 19, 2011 - same as above

Saturday, December 17, 2011 - same as above

Spread the word about our fellowship and reach out to a man who has never been to our meetings. The MorningStar University Students are a group of young men we want to intentionally build relationships with and encourage while they are here to study and be prepared for ministry. It can get lonely being away from home and they may need an older man to "father" them - whether it is a listening ear, a home-cooked meal or just a random act of kindness sometimes to encourage and bless them while they are here with us.

We will be inviting them to our meetings so you can get to meet the young men who do come out. Sometimes just a word of encouragement is the most valuable gift you could give them, so go for it!

Remember, if you want to join this blog and be able to make new posts, just email your name and email address to mstarmen@morningstarministries.org and state that you want to join the Men's Ministry Blog.

We would love to see more men getting connected through the blog and using it to share information, discover the resources we have among us, support and encourage one another and rejoice with those who are rejoicing.

Be sure to also check out our updated  men's ministry page on the MorningStar website by clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/pRJt61

Looking forward to a great year ahead in Him!  Enjoy the photos below from our Sept. 10th Men's Monthly Meeting...

Hope to see you at the Friday Men's Coffee and Fellowship in the  FUEL ROOM  from 6:30-7:30am on MAIN STREET in MorningStar! We are having some great fellowship and prayer...come out and join us!

Prayer request for Tim Flachman and his son Caleb

MorningStar Men,

Our brother Tim Flachman needs our prayers and support for his son Caleb and his family as well.

Tim is a MorningStar Media specialist and was on vacation recently with his family when he and his son had a boating accident. Tim is ok. Caleb suffered a concussion and bruises as well, but the doctors also discovered a benign 6 inch tumor in his spine. Since then, Caleb has been transferred to a Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and tommorrow will undergo a 10 hour surgery to have the tumor removed.

We need you to pray for Caleb and Tim's family and if you would like to know the details or more about how you can help the family please visit the link below to Caleb's Caringbridge page that Tim is updating regularly and also has a place for you to send well wishes, encouragement, etc.

Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Here is an August 9, 2011 update and prayer request for Caleb Flachman:

Caleb will have surgery tomorrow, Wednesday, August 10, to remove the tumor on his spine. Without too many details, the surgery will be very involved and will begin first thing in the morning. It is expected to be an all day surgery, about 10+ hours.

Thank you for your prayers during this time.

Breath of Life

Martin Powell is a virtuoso clarinetist and I have been blessed to hear him perform twice in the past week. Both times he played the Adagio Movement from Mozart's Clarinet Concerto. The first time was evening in the Grand Cafe, the second time was morning on Prayer Mountain in Moravian Falls. Whether morning or evening, large group or small, Martin was one with the instrument- the picture of discipline and devotion; public evidence of years spent in solitude. The sound produced by Martin's breath passing over a reed defies my intellect and inspires my imagination. To watch an instrument submit to a musician, as the clarinet does to Martin, confirms for me the power attainable when the created works with the creator. Teresa of Avila puts it thus, "...Martha and Mary walking together."

Genesis 2:7 reads, 'Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.' The word translated 'being' is, in the Hebrew, neh-fesh; literally- 'one who breathes'.

When Martin Powell plays Mozart's Clarinet Concerto all of creation hears the breath of life.

Prayer Request/Website for John Boneck's wife, Barbara

MorningStar Men,

Recently, our brother John Boneck's wife, Barbara, was admitted into the hospital at the end of May for tests. Since then, she has undergone a lot of tests and gone through a surgery due to an aggressive cancer. She is home now with John.

They have had so many people ask about Barbara’s prayer needs and physical needs that it has been impossible to respond to everyone, so they have created a web site.

Simply go to the caringbridge website by clicking on the link below. Click in the “Journal” section to receive updates. And sign the guestbook if you would like.

We are in touch with the One who knows more than doctors. Please join us in bringing about Barbara's complete healing through your prayers as well as the Lord's supernatural grace, peace and strength for John and his family during this time.

Thank you for your love and prayers.

MorningStar Men Needed to Help Clear Warehouse 6/27/11 for Gym Work to Begin!

MorningStar Men,

We are planning to clean out the warehouse at the CSCL school this coming Monday June 27th, 2011 in preparation for the gymnasium work to begin!

We can get this done in a day with enough volunteers on hand.

We NEED YOUR HELP to make this happen. We are asking volunteers to show up at 9:00am till 2:00pm.

Clint Rogers - (CSCL staff) will be delegating the duties that day. He has been working with the school for 5 years now and knows the warehouse very, very well. He will be a huge help.

Contact Clint through this blog post if you are a blogsite member or at csclrogers@gmail.com with any questions concering volunteering to help with the warehouse clearance on Monday, June 27th.

We are counting on our MORNINGSTAR MEN stepping up to the plate as we begin to see the fruition of our CSCL Gymnasium begin to come to pass! This facility will be a blessing for our youth, our adults, church, school, community and region once it is completed. Your time, skills and talent sown into making it a reality will reap a harvest for generations to come.

We believe we have one of the most valuable groups of resources on the planet among our men's membership at MorningStar and that we are embarking on just the tip of all that the Lord will accomplish through us for the glory of His Kingdom.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Memorial Day, May 30, 2011 Tribute

Remembering those today who died while serving our country in the military.  Those who willingly gave their lives so that their country, family and friends could be able to continue to enjoy freedom in America.   May we all treasure and celebrate our freedom as we pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate price for it.

Feel free to remember or honor any family, friends, countrymen on this post today, who lost their life in military service. We honor their sacrifice and thank God for each one. May the Lord also bless their loved ones left behind.

Galatians 5:1  "It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery."

Next Men's Meeting, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 10:30am in the MorningStar Grand Cafe

The next and final MorningStar Men's Meeting for this year and before the July sabbatical will be on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 10:30am in the Grand Cafe!

We will be having a cookout style lunch at this gathering (hamburgers, hot dogs, etc), so please be prepared to pay $5 if you plan to eat with us that day. We need you to RSVP for a food headcount by emailing your response for this meeting to mstarmen@morningstarministries.org. You can also rsvp by signing up at MorningStar after the 11am June 5th service (CSCL graduation) at the men's table set up for this purpose. We really need the rsvp for the food headcount so thank you in advance for letting us know your intentions for this gathering date.

It would be great for as many of our men as possible to attend this June meeting so that we can be sure to pray together and discuss ways to stay connected during the month of July since we are not meeting corporately. We want to stay united in prayer and spirit even though we may all be going in different directions with vacations and other plans.

We are also working on revamping our social network vehicle so that all MorningStar men/members can create new posts and topics and have access to tools to add photos and video to posts. We have fixed some glitches but will update everyone here as soon as it is all completed...stay tuned! My desire is for the men to be able to use this outlet as soon as June and definitely as a way to stay connected during July as well...so check back here for details forthcoming.

Thank you all for your patience with this initial setup of a blogsite and for your commitment to the men's group as a whole as we go through the birthing stages. Every man has a valuable part to add and I am thankful for every one of you.

Grace and peace,
Al

Whether its hunting on private land, fishing expeditions, or just camp outs or hikes, I would love to see us all pool our resources together and provide these opportunities to this next generation of young men. They need it so bad, so many have not ever had the opportunity for these things. So thanks Stan for getting the ball rolling! Cmon fellas let's raise up some real men!
